The Process

So what does it actually look like to work with me? All photographers do things differently, I like to try and make the process as simple and easy as possible! These are the 6 steps we’ll go through for your wedding photography so you know exactly what to expect:

01. The Process

Save the Date!

You’ve looked through my work, about section and reviews and you’d like to book – awesome! The first step is to fill in my contact form and check your date is available. I’ll then send you over a custom proposal to review available packages and set up a time for a phone chat. It’s really important that you ‘click’ with your wedding photographer (pun intended) as we’ll be spending a lot of time together on the day!

This initial chat will ensure we are a good fit and answer any questions you may have. Next, if you’d like to go ahead and make it official, all you need to do is review and sign the booking terms and pay your retainer to lock in the date!

Now you’re officially a #lisahatzbride, it’s time to get started!

02. The Process

Timeline Planning

Once you’re officially booked in, we’ll start making sure we’re completely prepared and have all the timings set for your wedding or elopement. By now I know the sort of day you’d like to have and from this info I put together a suggested timeline for you.

I love creating custom timelines for my couples to ensure you don’t miss out on having your dream wedding photos! Especially at destinations like Uluru, it’s super important we plan out the best time for photos.

After 10 years photographing weddings, I know how to create the perfect timeline for a less rushed, stress free wedding day!

03. The Process

The Details

6 weeks out from the big day, I’ll send you a questionnaire I’ve put together to gather all the details I need. I love being organised and especially when it comes to a day as important as your wedding, it pays for me to know exactly what is happening and when so I can help you stay on track!

The questionnaire will also cover your groupings for family portraits (which are SO important), runsheet for your reception and I’ll ask you to tell me about any surprises you may have planned – you don’t want your guests to know, but your photographer needs to be clued in to make sure I know it’s happening and can capture it.

Once your questionnaire is complete it’s all downhill from here to the big day!

04. The Process

Your Wedding Day!

It’s here! Time to celebrate, relax and for me to get to work! This day is going to be a blur so I make it a priority to capture every moment! I shoot with two cameras at all times (one with a wide lens, the other with a long lens for candids and close ups) and on dual memory cards in both cameras – plus I carry a full kit of back up gear, tonnes of spare memory cards and batteries just in case.

For most of the day you’ll hardly notice I’m there as I capture everything unfolding as unobtrusively as possible. During the location photos I’ll step in and guide you every step of the way. You’ll never be left standing still wondering what to do – I’ll direct you through natural, fun posing that looks like you’re not even posing at all – no one wants to look like a mannequin! My aim is to help you look in your photos as happy and relaxed as you felt on the day.

05. The Process

Your Preview

As soon as I get home from your wedding, I upload and back up all my memory cards so your memories are safe. Then, I get stuck straight into the sorting and editing process!

No waiting months to see even one photo – all my couples receive a highlights preview within 48 hours, usually the very next day! This is a moment all my couples look forward to as you get to relive those moments and share them with all your family and friends.

The highlights preview will be a selection of my early favourites from the day. If you’re eloping and not quite ready to share your photos yet – no worries! Just let me know and I’ll email your preview to you instead and share online once you’ve announced your marriage.

06. The Process

Full Gallery Delivery

Within 6 weeks (usually sooner) your gallery of all your wedding photos goes online – hundreds and hundreds of them! I keep all the photos that are not duplicates or badly exposed, unflattering, blinking etc – so there’s not limit on what you receive! Generally you can expect around 85+ images per hour of coverage. These images are displayed beautifully in your online gallery which you can also share with family and friends and download your images straight to your computer.

As of 2020 I’ll no longer be sending USB’s – they usually get put in a drawer and forgotten about or lost (I’ll be honest… I have no idea where my own wedding USB is!). Every little bit of less packaging helps our environment too. Don’t worry – your online gallery is available for 2 whole years! During that time you can access it from anywhere, download and save your images as many times as you like, back up to your own USB or hard drive and share with family and friends.
