Highlights from a range of recent assignments
The 2018 FBA Conference ran over 4 days with a wide variety of venues, entertainment and cultural experiences to capture. My brief was to capture key note speakers, audience interaction, lightning sessions, networking and socials during speed networking events and breaks, overall venue shots, entertainment and experiences. I combined a fly-on-the-wall perspective with interaction with delegates to capture socials. The FBA delegates were an amazing group, lots of fun and wonderful to work with and to capture all the fantastic experiences they had in Alice Springs.
During filming in Alice Springs, I had the pleasure of capturing stills for the new series of Russell Coight’s All Aussie Adventures. The majority of photography took place during filming, so a completely silent camera was a huge help to capture distraction-free stills during filming and between takes. The Alice Springs portion of filming took place at several local scenic venues including Ooraminna Station Homestead, The Alice Springs Desert Park and Undoolya Station.
This year’s Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap ball was held on the lawns of the Double Tree By Hilton, under festoon lights and a canopy of stars. The theme was ‘Bond’ and there were some fantastic outfits on display!
St John Ambulance NT commissioned my services to capture a range of images for purposes such as in-house safety campaigns and procedure, promotional material for interstate job seekers and general marketing images. I organised locations to show off the local scenery and unique landscapes to Alice Springs.
Design Community created this spectacular exhibition with the challenge of striking a balance between the huge skeletons and the small fossils. Four life sized Megafauna specimens take up the bulk of the space, however they are not all displayed at once – Dromornis stirtoni peers at you over the top of a wall; turn a corner and be confronted by the fearsome Baru. The visitor is on a journey through Alcoota and its treasures.
The 2018 Change Making Summit was held in Alice Springs, utilising a number of fantatsic local venues including the Alice Springs Convention Centre and the Earth Sanctuary. The program included a number of keynote speakers such as Michael Henderson, Cassandra Do Carmo and Murray Howe, with the entire event hosted by the hilariously comical MC Chris Taylor. Delegates were treated to fantastic evening events at The Earth Sanctuary and The Outback Quarry.
