Megan & Peter | rainy day Uluru elopement
A rainy day Uluru elopement
– Megan & Peter –
When you’re RAIN SOAKED but still oh so happy on your wedding day! Plus, it HAILED… When I say I’ll photograph your wedding rain, hail or shine – I literally mean it! ⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Megan and Peter decided to elope at Uluru and on the day, there was only a slight chance of storms forecast… as we headed for the lookout, the horizon was looking dark and the lightning started… we decided to forge ahead hoping the weather would hold off. Well wouldn’t you know it, it started to rain by the time we got to the top of the lookout. No worries, we had umbrellas, all good to keep going! But then half way through the ceremony, I hear what sounds like really loud raindrops falling on the roof at the resort nearby and a few seconds later the hail starts dropping on us!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Megan and Peter were so amazing, they kept on going, with the officiant Ro barely audible above the roar of the wind, rain, lightning and hail! The first kiss was shared, we picked up the brolly’s and started a fast walk down to the refuge of our cars!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Of course the hail stopped by the time we reached the bottom, but the fun didn’t end there. I whisked the newlyweds away for photos right away, as I knew those dark clouds meant we would lose light quickly before sunset. As we started shooting, a whirlwind of dark storm clouds and some absolutely epic lightning started circling around us.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No-one hopes for rain on their wedding day, but when you can just smile and make the most of it like Megan and Peter did so brilliantly, the rainy skies can actually make for really beautiful memories as you will see below!⠀
